Introducing Version 10.3

As the year comes to a close, I’m pleased to be able to deliver this packed update for Heart Analyzer. January is right around the corner and I hope the new capabilities will help users track and monitor their Health & Fitness in the 2024.

Heart Analyzer V10.3 introduces the following new features:

  • Interactive widgets

  • Lock Screen widgets

  • Blood Pressure support

  • New Metrics charts

As with the last update, lets go through these with some detail.

Interactive widgets

A key new feature with iOS 17 was the ability to add interactivity to widgets on iPhone Home Screen. I’m pleased to have this feature now available for Heart Analyzer Data Plus premium users. With this new widget you can tap through your Resting, Minimum, Maximum and Average Heart Rate trends from the past week or fortnight. The new widget also offers direct and individual customisation of the timescale and tint making them fit right in with any Home Screen. You can also use this widget on your Mac via iPhone and in StandBy mode.

Lock Screen widgets

It’s been a highly requested feature for a while and today I’m delighted to finally release support for widgets on the Lock Screen! Choose between your weeks Resting Heart Rate trend or a Heart Rate chart and track it throughout your day. These also work on iPad and provide a quick and easy way to jump into the app if you want to inspect the detail further.

Blood Pressure support

Another highly requested feature is now available. As of now, Apple Watch itself does not generate Blood Pressure values. But lots of users have third party cuffs and devices which save BP values to Apple Health. Heart Analyzer can now display these on the Dashboard and provide Insights on them as the data trends develop. I’ve been using a Withings BPM Connect for a while now and find this feature a really useful addition, I hope you do too!

New Metrics charts

Since the release of iOS 16 with the new Swift Charts provided by Apple, I’ve been incrementally updating the app to support these. For users on iOS 17 Heart Analyzer will now display advanced versions of these in the Metrics tab. They include interactivity and support for selecting values letting you easily drill down into the data. This offers a real additional insight beyond what can be found in any other Health app.

So that’s it for the year. 2023 has been massive for Heart Analyzer. Version 10 introduced a brand new Dashboard experience and with that update and a couple in-between, almost the entire app has been overhauled and modernised. The core aims of the app have remained the same and as always, user feedback has helped drive development of features from an early stage.

Have a great holiday season and best of luck for 2024!
