Heart Analyzer FAQs

  • My health data is missing?

Heart Analyzer generates your heart rate charts from data stored in the Apple Health App.

If readings or trends are missing, please review the Health App. If data shows up there but not in Heart Analyzer, try the Refresh Cached Data option or check your iPhone Privacy Settings.

iPhone Settings -> Privacy -> Health -> Heart Analyzer

  • Why does it say Complication Not Available?

Sometimes when trying to add a Watch Face from the Heart Analyzer Settings, the Apple Watch app can display the message “Complication Not Available”. This is a bug which we’re working to resolve with Apple.

To work around this issue, you can still edit your Watch Face in the Apple Watch app by selecting a Face and selecting Complications.

You can also edit Watch Faces directly on your wrist. Tap and hold on your Watch Face, then select Edit and swipe across to Complications.

  • My Watch Face Complication Shows Dashes -- ?

This is a known issue with the app relating to a bug in WatchOS.

A workaround exists by deleting the watch face and then recreating is with new complications. This refreshes the template for the complication and it should display correctly. It’s also worth rebooting Apple Watch before creating any new watch faces.

  • No Heart Analyzer Complications are offered?

When editing your Apple Watch Face, if no Heart Analyzer complications are offered this is likely because the app is not installed on your Watch.

If you launch the Apple Watch app on your iPhone and scroll towards the bottom, verify that Heart Analyzer is listed with the Apple Watch app enabled. It’s then also worth launching the app directly on your wrist first before then adding the complications.

  • How much are the Premium options?

Each of the three premium options can be purchased for a one time $3.99 USD charge or equivalent local currency.

A Complete Premium purchase lets you purchase them all in combo for a discount if you have not previously purchased any individual premium item.

  • Can I lose Health Data?

Heart Analyzer only requests read access to your data from the Apple Health app. If you choose to delete Heart Analyzer and re-install it later, your data will be unaffected.

  • Does the app support other languages?

Currently Heart Analyzer only support the English language. We do hope to add more language localizations to the app in the future.

  • I've lost my Premium purchase?

To restore a premium item, select it from the list above and select restore.

Ensure you're signed in with the same Apple ID you used to make the purchase originally. You will never be charged twice for the same purchase.

  • The Apple Watch app won't install?

The Heart Analyzer Apple Watch app supports Apple Watch Series 3 & newer on WatchOS 8 & newer.

Sometimes, in the event of the app not installing to the watch, a reboot of both iPhone and Apple Watch can resolve the issue.

  • Can I use other Heart Rate Monitors?

You can absolutely use other heart rate monitor devices instead of or as well as Apple Watch as long as they support saving data to Apple Health. This feature is available on many third party devices from Garmin, Polar etc... if configured in the relevant app for the device.

  • Where are my Blood Oxygen Saturation values?

Only Apple Watch Series 6 & newer can record Blood Oxygen Saturation. The Apple Watch SE Series does not support these readings.

Alternatively you can manually input values straight into the Apple Health app.

  • LiveHR on the Watch?

The Heart Analyzer app on Apple Watch can take a live Heart Rate right in the app. Launch the app on your wrist to the Heart Rate section, here button top right with the heart & arrow symbol will let you measure your Heart Rate with one tap.

  • What are Cardio Points?

Cardio Points represent a metric score based on the intensity and duration of heart rate activity in a given day. Cardio Points are earned when exercising with a heart rate elevated above sedentary.

Learn more about these in the Analytics Plus section of the App under the Metrics tab.

  • My Cardio Points or HR Zones are wrong?

Both these metrics are based on your maximum heart rate. Sometimes because of invalid readings, this can be detected incorrectly. Please review this in the Insights tab under Maximum HR Override.

  • What are the points on my chart?

Both on Apple Watch and in this iPhone app, the points represent individual heart rate measurements.

  • How do I update my Height/Weight/DOB?

You can update these values through the Apple Health App. Simply launch the app, select the today tab bottom left, and select the profile icon top right.

  • Can this app enable the SPO2 Sensor on Apple Watch SE?

Heart Analyzer reads data recorded by devices such as Apple Watch. Unfortunately, if you have an Apple Watch SE, your device is not capable of recording SPO2 (Blood Oxygen Saturation) data. You could still use a separate device to record this data and input the values manually into the Apple Health app. They will then display in Heart Analyzer.

  • Where can I use widgets?

Heart Analyzer supports Apple Watch face complications and iPhone/iPad home screen widgets.

Unfortunately widgets are not supported on the iPhone lock screen as well as in StandBy mode or on the Mac. (You can still enable them on Mac although update performance is unreliable)

The technical reason for this is because Heart Analyzer cannot access your Health data in these environments to update the charts and metrics. Hopefully this will become possible in the future.
