Version 9 and beyond

It was actually several months ago that we released version 9 of Heart Analyzer. After a summer of testing, the update added new features including a redesigned Heart Home, new Heart Reports, Respiratory Rate support and many other features. But we’ve not stopped since that release. We’re making some significant under the hood changes for the next update to work on improving app performance and reliability. We’re also making it more future proof. These changes are all coming as part of V9.1 in the coming days.

Part of doing this has involved modernising the app code base behind the scenes. There is a consequence of this which is that the roughly 0.08% of our users still running iOS 13 will not receive the update. This change has been made to allow us to take advantage of newer features in iOS development. The good news is, any iPhone that runs iOS 13 can also run iOS 14 (and 15 for that matter). So we’re not dropping any device support. We’re also maintaining support for WatchOS 6 so those of you with Series 1 & 2 Apple Watches, you’ll still be able to use the latest version of the app.

Please do keep providing feedback on the app, it’s how the development has got where it has. Have a great holiday season.
